Centre for Environmental Applied Hydrology (CEAH)The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is one of two partners in the Centre for Environmental Applied Hydrology (CEAH), with the other being the School of Anthropology, Geography and Environmental Studies (SAGES). CEAH was established as a special research centre in 1987, and exists to undertake research and specialist consulting in hydrology, particularly for challenges that require skills from a number of disciplinary areas. An ongoing focus for CEAH is problems that require integration of concepts and techniques across scales and systems. These are increasingly important in the sustainable management of natural resources, and form the core of experience that underlies CEAH's reputation with state and federal agencies, water authorities and catchment management organisations. Drawing on our internationally recognised expertise in catchment modelling, aquatic ecology, hydroclimatology, environmetrics, hydraulics, environmental remote sensing and geomorphology, CEAH staff and students investigate problems in:
Previous research and consulting tasks have ranged from reviews, desktop studies, modelling, laboratory experiments and field monitoring, to the design, construction, implementation and maintenance of environmental data acquisition systems. CEAH DirectorsProfessor
