International Technologies Centre (IDTC)

The International Technologies Centre (IDTC) is a multi-disciplinary academic unit within the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering established in 1979 to provide postgraduate programs by coursework, international research and specialist consulting services.

The Centre is a focus for postgraduate education in the Department. The Centre is strongly committed to providing education in engineering sciences and management disciplines for sustainable development. Drawing on internationally recognised expertise in the fields of hydrology, energy and management, IDTC also conducts research in:

  • Water Resources System Modeling
  • Solar Energy Engineering
  • Biomass Energy Conversion technology
  • Energy Efficiency & Management

IDTC has been involved in a range of international consulting projects in the areas of hydrology and energy in developing countries, including project reviews, project development and supervision, modelling, economic assessment and institutional development.
